Not sure what the issue is here, just bought it on steam, downloaded it, and every time i try to launch i get the above error. Help!

I don't recognize this error at all. It's likely not a game error, but more likely a steam or Windows error. Two things I would check - I'd verify my steam cache is fine, (there are some other posts about this on the site), and I'd verify that you have the redistributable DirectX and not the developer DirectX on your machine. If you do have the dev DirectX, make sure to update it to the latest version.

Hello, just wanted to let you know that after a fresh os install it works fine. Must have been a conflict of some kind. Thanks for the help, and great gam! It is addicting for sure, well back to playing and thanks again!

Thanks Jeff, I get the same error with the batman arkham asylum game as well. I dont think I have the dev directx, I never downloaded it, but I will see.
