Demo fails to start - X3DAudio1_4.dll was not found.
I get the following error message when trying to start the demo.
"This application has failed to start because X3DAudio1_4.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
And, no, re-installing didn't fix the problem.
defense_grid_windows_demo_r3.exe

Up to Microsoft
Microsoft started including X3DAudio1_4.dll in the June and later versions of DirectX. Our game requires it, some do, some don't. You need a version of DirectX from later than June that includes that audio engine in order to run the game or demo. If Windows 7 isn't shipping with a DirectX that is from June or later, then you need to get a version from Microsoft that is later. We'll let them know, but I think once you decide to use beta software like Windows 7 Beta, it is more up to you to make things work in that test environment.

re: x3d audio1_4.dll was not found
That is a DirectX error
If you get that error it means that you don't have the latest version of DirectX on your computer. The demo is supposed to install the latest version in the background if you don't already have it, but it sounds like that didn't happen. Go to the Microsoft web site and download the latest DirectX and you should be set.
