About the Game

Defense Grid: The Awakening is a unique spin on tower defense gameplay that will appeal to players of all skill levels. A horde of enemies is invading, and it's up to the player to stop them by strategically building fortification towers around their base. Beautiful environments, spectacular effects, and a dynamic, engaging soundtrack bring the world to life. The controls are intuitive and the gameplay is deep — the special attacks and properties of each tower work together to provide many ways to succeed.

  • High Replayability. There are approximately 8 hours of gameplay in the main storyline, and many hours of play in challenge modes that give players unique starting conditions and objectives. Each game level is very replayable, and can be solved in many different ways, with increasing rewards for improved efficiency.
  • Wide Variety of Enemies. Over the course of the game, players battle 15 different enemy types that become increasingly stronger, and employ a variety of strategies in an attempt to bypass the player's defenses. As the levels progress, the enemies become tougher and more difficult to defeat.
  • 20 Unique Levels. Defense Grid: The Awakening has 20 unique environments, each with a different placement of roads, tower build locations, and open areas to plan a strategy around.
  • Numerous Tower Options and Upgrades. There are 10 different tower types with 3 levels of capability each. Each tower has unique trade offs that affect ideal placement, such as line-of-sight attack or ballistic trajectory fire. Some towers improve other nearby towers, and some are ideal at specific locations, such as a rear guard tower that unleashes a devastating attack.
  • Achievements. Successfully completing each level provides a bronze achievement award. Additional goals provide silver and gold awards for a particular level. A novice player may be able to survive the onslaught, but only an experienced player will be able to get all of the gold achievements.

When will be the next 20 new maps?

When will you release the next 20 new maps? Here is my suggestion for your next version... add a rappid fire tower (4X red guns) but have them be alive for a set time (such as each one can stay up and active for only 90 seconds after it is built).

Re: Learn More about Defense Grid: The Awakening

I would personally be more interested in the inclussion of a greatier variety of aliens to face (not complaining of course, simply loved the already diverse sellection) especially when it comes to more enphisis on air units, witch seamed to be a bit more relaxed, such as a second meduim/green lvl flyers with more health, and is slower, or even a Boss flyer- that would sure come as a suprise. Also, maybe some more turrets as well. As for upgrades, it would be interesting to have it so, when upgrading, you could further make the turrets capabilities and purpose more specific. Example: the basic, gun- could be upgraded to a machine gun type, or perhaps more of a shotgun type, and then upgrade those types from that point. if you multiply the amount of turrets by two (for each designated purpose) well, it would greatly increase strategic oppertunity, and value to the game. oh, and for the last of my crazy thoughts i will leave you with... "Mulitplayer!". Insane, i know... Worked well with Sol Survivor, i would love to see it here.

Re: Learn More about Defense Grid: The Awakening

It is really a superb game. But it did have a serious error of freezing with certain surround-sound configuration. However, it has been patched up now in the newer version. It does make your day worth playing this game. This game has 20 levels. however, if you are an avid gamer, it should not be that tough for you to survive. The real challenge is the last five levels where it is going to test your skills seriously. It is really a great fun to play this game and at the same time a serious challenge for gamers to play those last five levels.

Do you mean environments

Do you mean environments like new maps to play or environments like new "themes"? (e.g. jungle, city, whatever)

Environments

I guess it would be maps to play or new challenges.

Environments

I realize the game is new but are there any plans to add new environments as time goes along. Also do the present environments change each time you play them. I really like the game and look forward to new environments.
